Two’s Company was written in November 1987 at the suggestion of guitarist Edrick Corban-Banks. After revision in 1994, it received its first performance in Morelia, México, on 10 March 1995 by Matthew Marshall and Tony Donaldson (The New Zealand Guitar Duo) with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Michoacán conducted by Alfredo Ibarra. It has been recorded by Matthew Marshall and Gunter Herbig with the Wellington Orchestra conducted by Kenneth Young on the album Still Life with Guitar.

Two’s Company may be performed with string orchestra or string quartet with bass.
